The San Pedro Women’s Guild supports, empowers and educates all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service. The Guild is affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women, whose purpose is to unite Catholic women in religious, social, educational and charitable endeavors.
The Women’s Guild organizes the Thanksgiving Food Drive, which provides food to area SPWGfamilies in need. Our annual Angel Wreath project is the highlight of the Christmas season, as hundreds of children in the Upper Keys receive gifts donated by our parishioners.
We also provide grants to graduating high school seniors who are continuing their educations.
The Guild also maintains the Grotto located on the grounds of San Pedro Church and contributes to special projects as the need arises.
The helping hands of our members enable the Guild to raise money from the Christmas Bazaar, raffles, Spaghetti Dinner, Fashion Show, Art Under the Oaks and yard sale. With the generous support of the parish these are successful projects.
Within the Guild, smaller groups undertake special projects such as the Shawl Ministry. Members use their knitting and crocheting talents to make shawls and baby blankets for those in need of a loving touch.
Meetings are held once a month from Sept. through May to discuss projects, pray and organize members to assist other’s in our parish and community. Dues are $20/year. This small amount offsets costs for meetings, food and decorations at meetings. In addition to these regular meetings, we gather to celebrate with a Spring and a Christmas luncheon.
Please contact the church for a registration form or ask any member for more information.
